Caring for Street Trees

Are you a new street tree steward?

  • Get started with MillionTreesNYC and learn how to take care of street trees. MillionTreesNYC's community calendar lists upcoming street tree care workshops and volunteering opportunities. The free stewardship workshops cover the basics of street tree care.
  • Partnerships for Parks local staff can connect you to street tree stewards in your neighborhood or help you start a street tree stewardship group in your neighborhood. They can offer you guidance in getting organized.

Are you a trained street tree steward or group looking to start a new project or network with fellow New Yorkers?

  • Partnerships Academy is ideal for street tree stewards that have a project idea to care for and raise awareness about street trees. During this one–year fellowship program, participants learn new skills, network and share best practices, hear from experienced resource speakers, and are eligible for a selective mini-grants program. All sessions are tailored to fit the unique needs of street tree stewards.
  • Find street tree care organizations in New York City.
