Our Accomplishments

Thanks to Partnerships for Parks, each year:

• 1,800 community park groups grow stronger
• 56,000 individuals get connected to their local parks
• $100,000 in grants are given to support community-led park projects
• 9,000 participants attend events on It’s My Park! Day, the largest volunteer day in NYC parks.

Since 1995, Partnerships for Parks has worked to connect dedicated community groups to over half of New York City’s 1,700 parks, building a higher level of civic involvement in city government. In recognition of these accomplishments, Partnerships received the prestigious Innovations in American Government Award in 2000, and is called upon to share best practices with counterparts from Anchorage to Philadelphia to Berlin.
